Comet Lake, completion of the iteration

As usual, we inform you late about the release of the final portion of the tenth-generation Comet Lake processors - we are talking about models for desktop computers (Comet Lake-S). The time for the announcement is the most suitable - long holidays are over, antivirus quarantine is coming to an end. Perhaps someone right now will need new processors - but they are.

Traditionally, in the desktop segment, the launch is massive - in addition to the existing ones, 44 models have been announced across the entire line from Core i9 to Celeron . Selectively, the overall picture is as follows.

Processors use a new socket LGA 1200. Also, in addition to processors announced chipsets in all standard categories for Intel Bed and, H, the Z .

We highlight the following differences between the new models and their predecessors:

  • 10 cores and 20 threads in the top models of Core i9;
  • increased cache, number of cores and operating frequencies in almost all models;
  • the presence of hypertreading in all models except Celeron;
  • supported memory - up to DDR4-2933.

At the same time, the cost of the respective models and their heat dissipation in most cases remained unchanged.

Deliveries of new processors have already begun, motherboards based on updated chipsets are expected in the very near future.
