At the end of January, we published a salary report in the IT industry for the second half of 2019, in March we compared the salaries of developers working from the office and remotely.

Today, we continue to deepen salary analytics and look at developers' salaries by their programming languages and qualifications: what salaries were in the second half of 2019 and how they changed over the previous year.

As for all similar studies, we took data from the Habr Career salary calculator , in which users indicate the salaries they receive on their hands after deducting all taxes, and can also look at any other salaries in IT.

Salary of developers of various qualifications in the second half of 2019

To begin with, let's take a look at the salaries of developers of various qualifications.

Starting from an intern with a median salary of 31,000 rubles, the salary of each of the following qualifications grows as follows: June - 1.6 times (50,000 rubles), middle - 2 (100,000 rubles), senior - 1.6 (160,000 rubles), lead - 1.1 times (180,000 rubles).

The lead salary in development as a whole is 3.6 times the June salary. Now let's look at the salaries of developers of different qualifications in each language separately.

In June, salaries range from 40,000 (PHP) to 61,000 (Ruby on Rails) and 80,000 rubles. (Swift)
In the middle - from 70,000 (1C) to 135,000 rubles. (Objective-C).
Seniors - from 135,000 (1C) to 191,000 rubles. (Objective-C).
Leads - from 135,000 (1C) to 230,000 rubles. (Go).

In general, a common pattern is observed in all languages: with increasing qualifications, the jump to the next level of salary gradually decreases. From June to Middle, the jump is the largest - 1.9 times, from Middle to Senior already smaller - 1.6 times, and from Senior to Lead quite small - 1.1 times.

There are a few exceptions. In C ++, the jump from June to Middle (1.4 times) is less than from Middle to Senior (1.8 times). In Go, the jump from June to Middle is the largest - 2.4 times. And in Objective-C, C # and Swift, the lead salary is slightly less than the senior's salary.

Now let's look at the maximum career step in each language.

As we saw at the beginning, on average, the salary of the highest qualification is lead, 3.6 times the salary of the youngest is June. If we look at each language separately, we will see that the largest gap between these qualifications is among Go developers, it is 4.2 times. And this is due to the fact that Go’s lead salary is the highest. And the smallest gap between Swift developers is 2.3 times. This is due to the fact that the salary of the Swift jones is the highest.

For 2019, in all qualifications there was an increase in salaries. Only in June, the median salary remained unchanged, while for interns it did not increase much.

Over the year, the largest jump in median wages for the middle is 11%, then, with a small margin from each other, seniors and leads go.

Go developers salary

The median salary of Golang developers in the second half of 2019 is 150,000 rubles.

The median salary of Objective-C developers in the second half of 2019 is 160,000 rubles.

Starting from the middle with a salary of 135,000 rubles. on average, the salary of each next qualification grows as follows: the senior - 1.4 (194,000 rubles), the lead - decreased 1.1 times (190,000 rubles).

Swift developers salary

The median salary of Swift developers in the second half of 2019 is 144,000 rubles.

Starting from June with a salary of 80,000 rubles. on average, the salary of each next qualification grows as follows: middle - 1.5 times (120 000 rubles), senior - 1.5 (190 000 rubles), lead - decreased 1.1 times (183 000 rubles) .).

Swift lead payroll is 2.3 times the June paycheck.

Kotlin developers salary

The median salary of Kotlin developers in the second half of 2019 is 120,000 rubles.
