Remote Marathon Week 3: Inoperative Processes

image

The best ideas come from smoking rooms, everyone knows that. And also - during morning conversations by the coffee machine and evening trips to the bar with colleagues. And what to do when we all sit at home? In the third week of the marathon, we are talking about everything that is not directly related to work, but it affects it very much - communication, networking, socialization and training.
If working from home is new to you and you are unbearably anxious to pump, go to the  page of the Marathon - there are all the details. And if you are already a remote guru, go to the comments to share your experience!

Random coffee

A few years ago, the Random Coffee initiative became popular in the IT industry (sometimes together, sometimes with a hashtag). The bottom line is that people from different teams, departments and companies are randomly scheduled to have meetings over a cup of coffee - just talk about anything. This helps to get out of your “bubble” when you forget that outside the narrow circle of colleagues and friends there really is a whole world full of different people.

Today we launch Random Coffee on Habré - of course, in the online format, of course, for free. It's simple: connect to the community using a special bot in Telegram (he will ask for your account at Habr Career) and wait until the "distributing hat" randomly connects you to one of the participants.

Give a try!

Admit it, have you tried all the backgrounds in the zoom? Have you managed to make screenshots? We have a new contest: leave a group photo from your conference in the comments to this post. We still give the best to you the softest Habr Tolstoyovka, a subscription to the online cinema Okko and one year old Rambler merchandise.

We’ll start, perhaps, the Habr team is recording the Habr Wickley podcast:

UPD: Meet the winners of the

@pyanchesko contest and his screenshot of a pole dancing master class.

Anna Wolf Hunter (from VKontakte), who, together with the team, respects the mask mode, even on a remote site.

Anastasia Ka (from VKontakte), who obviously had the honor of participating in the call, where plans to capture the world were discussed. By the way, her boss is a great fellow that tries to dress up even in quarantine!

The guys will receive Habr Tolstoyovka, a merchandise kit from Rambler and a promotional code for a year at the Okko online cinema. We will contact you shortly!

Words of support

Despite the fact that most of our team already knew what udalenka is, self-isolation with three monitors is not so easy! But we did it. Now it even seems that they always worked in this mode. Join the Habr marathon to learn about our experience of working effectively on a remote site. And you can handle it too.
