How NOT to Interview

Foreword

Good afternoon. As a simple android developer, I went through more than 20 interviews in the middle position in 2 weeks. 18 of them were on Skype. More than 50% of the companies made me an offer. The rest either ignored the answer or directly refused. Some painted in detail why I didn’t fit, and didn’t stupidly send a template with a refusal. Respect to such companies.
As a result, I stopped at sberbank.ru

For all these interviews, I gained experience and would like to share with you how NOT to have an interview .

Do not be shy and do not underestimate your professional skills

Do you know that the interviewer has to ask the same questions to dozens of candidates like you a day? How do you differ from them? While you will be shy and put pressure on pity, then nothing. You will be forgotten after 5 minutes after the interview, if you are no different. So that this does not happen, then leave at least some emotions. You will be remembered. To do this, you need to add a bit of paint and hyperbole to your experience. And most importantly - DO NOT LIE

When the interviewer asks about your experience, do not say this:

NOT right - "Mmm ... well, you know, I only did CRUD apk. I think there was nothing interesting in my career. On the last project, I saw a simple backing for a social network. I wrote a simple algorithm for filtering users. And I also came up with a simple library that solves problem X, but it’s so, little things ... "

That's right - "I made the most loaded applications. Sometimes I had to come up with the most complicated algorithms to solve them. I constantly read books about algorithms and now use them in practice. I wrote my library that solves the unsolvable problem X and put it into the github. She scored 10 stars in one day! Such activity in the github inspired me to become an active open source co -ributor "

Interviewing is fun!
