Remove your children from our blue screens, or why you can’t buy Yandex.Station for a child

About two weeks ago, I contacted Yandex technical support on the issue of video filtering in child mode.

Honestly, the desire to appeal about unacceptable content for children arose earlier, but as usual, it was postponed until later.

Besides - it's Yandex! He knows better what you wanted to find.

As it turned out - no better.

It was this screensaver - about profanity and 18+ that I saw when I tried to turn on the child’s video of the passage of a beautiful toy from MS, by the way - a 6+ toy.

Spoons, of course, other options were found, but the sediment remained.

A little background - why did I suddenly decide to contact TP.

A child (7 years old) is not alien to the computer and gadgets, but also does not fan for them.

He likes to draw, and usually, with the help of Alice - looking at the monitor, she tries to repeat what is taught in the master classes, listens to music, dances and sings.

He always handles the piece of iron quite correctly and if a question arises, he often tries to figure out the incomprehensible on his own. Of course, we, as parents, will always explain and tell, but the child is also interested in another point of view, which is generally correct. But as it turned out - not in this case.

The child should have personal time and personal space, and the closed door for an hour or two a day did not bother me at all - he watches cartoons, draws - what could be bad?

Until she came up and said "I'm scared."

I came across somewhere horror stories that some adults should not watch. Maybe Alice incorrectly recognized the request, maybe the girlfriends said something - and here is the result.

After watching “this” for a couple of minutes, I decided to immediately contact TP - after all, such tin in child mode is unacceptable and hoping that the guys “just tighten the filters”. But the article would not have been, had it been so simple.

I’ll get ahead of myself so that I can not read the sheet of correspondence with TP.
In a nutshell: no filters. We (Yandex) believe that everything is OK.

The child will see everything for which the age limit is not set forcibly (by moderators or video fillers). For YouTube and Yandex, which send the main content to the station, this means that almost any video is available because reload any video without bothering to set restrictions. All TV news channels on hosting are available (although it’s time to put 16+ for news).

There is not even filtering by query keywords.

And no, this is not a complaint. You can complain about personal problems, here mental problems can occur in any random child who knows how to talk with Yandex.Station.
