We invite you to an IT internship at Alfa Bank

Hello! For already 7 years, we have been working on an internship program called I choose Alfa. This year we continue the recruitment of interns, shifting its format to a remote one. As usual, an internship for six months is paid, it can be combined with study. Interns who will show themselves well in the process of work will be able to remain on staff.

Applications are accepted until April 25, you can register here on this page .

An important geographical limitation: the program so far (so far) works only for Moscow, St. Petersburg, Barnaul and Yekaterinburg. Because, although we transferred to the remote rails all the possible stages of testing, the very final interview will still be in-person. Like an internship. Read more about the internship, as well as reviews from a couple of guys - under the cut.

About the program

When we first started in 2013, we had two interns. That's why he is a pilot. Then, every year, we gradually expanded the program and its geography. In 2019, for example, there were already 50 interns, of whom 38 remained in Alpha.

And this year we have 80 interns for 75 different projects. Of the available for registration today - IT and analytics.

The trainee is required to devote work 30 hours a week, the curator helps at all stages, the internship is paid. The total duration of the internship is 6 months. If desired, you can choose two directions at once: one that you definitely want and is interesting, and a spare one, just in case. The internship itself is not much different from regular work, so it will take place in the office. We hope that by July 1, getting around the city will be easier.

Training with a mentor

In early October, I moved to another Alpha office and met my mentor Alina. The training was peculiar, if something did not work out, then Alina did not say it right, but gave out tips that could be untwisted and come to the right decision - this is very cool.

Participation in real banking projects

I was entrusted with a real test scenario with the task “must be fixed to work”. And then - “you need to fix it so that the code is good”. I understood that living people use the result of work.

Introducing new frameworks and programming languages

We write tests using the Cucumber framework, the code for them is in Ruby, we work with browsers using the Selenium engine. I did not know all this before, I had to master it already in Alpha, but live a century - learn a century!

Clarification of career prospects

I came to Alpha with a distant understanding of the profession, and already in the process I learned to think as a tester, was able to adapt to a new environment and new software tools, to a new approach to development. In any case, these are worthy months that taught me to think “out of the box” of my usual perception of the world, products and the development process.

Maxim Chervyakov

When I graduated from Moscow State Technical University. Bauman, for my undergraduate practice, I chose Alfa Bank. I didn’t want to shift the papers, but to gain real experience ... In Alpha, I was assigned to the department that deals with application development using the PEGA BPM platform. For a month, I immersed myself in this development environment, took courses at pega.com. And I realized that I like this system: you can create full-fledged applications without writing lines of code. Yes, no code at all! Therefore, I was eager to develop applications specifically on the PEGA BPM platform.

When I found out that an internship program was being opened at the Bank, and among the areas there is development on this platform, I finally decided to try it myself. However, I was afraid that the intern would hardly be trusted to immediately work with a large application. That was the moment when you were glad you were wrong. On the very first day, I met with the Alpha development team, they immediately plunged me in the know: what kind of application, what kind of architecture it has and other aspects. After just a couple of days, my merit list already had many technical bugs fixed.

Now I am developing additional application functionality. Seriously, the intern is entrusted with a combat operating system. Eyeing, of course, but still. This is a great experience: working in a large Alpha team, developing applications on PEGA BPM. I really hope to continue my journey in Alpha - to offer my team a fresh look at products, develop large applications and develop myself.

And one more time - the set runs until April 25th. Visit us or call your friends.
