Updating corporate network access. New ExtremeSwitching X435 Gigabit Switches

In our previous article , ExtremeSwitching X465 Switches. Universal gigabit and multi-gigabit โ€ we talked about the X465 series switches, which are positioned, including as access switches in the premium segment. In the same article, we want to introduce you to the new line of access switches for the economy segment - ExtremeSwitching X435. The new switch series is an update to the Summit X430 line, and an alternative to ExtremeSwitting-210 running FastPath OS. X435, like all older models, runs the ExtremeXOS operating system.

ExtremeSwitching X435 are non-stackable Layer 2 switches with support for static routing. There are 5 models in the lineup: three 8-port and two 24-port Gigabit Ethernet models with SFP uplinks of up to 4x1 / 2.5 Gbps. All models, except the 24-port one with PoE support, are โ€œfanlessโ€, which ensures silent operation and the ability to install them in noise-sensitive environments such as offices, hotels, schools, shops, shopping centers, etc.

The PoE ExtremeSwitching X435 models support Fast and Perpetual-PoE modes , and can deliver up to 30W per port according to the IEEE 802.3at (PoE +) standard. This allows you to power a wide range of different devices, from uncommon WiFi5 / WiFi6 AP access points, PoS terminals, modern LED lights, and ending with IP cameras with rotary zoom or low-power IoT devices. EEE (Energy Efficient Ethernet) technology is supported on all access ports.

In addition to the foregoing, PoE is used to power the X435-8P-2T-W model, which does not have a built-in power supply. At the same time, the X435-8P-2T-W (depending on the available budget) can provide Pass-Through (pass-through) PoE up to 100W. In general, this can significantly reduce both operating and capital costs due to the simplification and acceleration of installation, as well as the absence of the need for additional power lines.

Other key features of ExtremeSwitching X435 include:

-> Management and control capabilities from the ExtremeCloud IQ cloud platform
-> Flexible configuration of security profiles Role-Based policy
-> Fabric Attach support
-> Audio Video Bridging (AVB)
- > UPM (Universal Port Management) A
