How to start using USB Type-C in your designs


Modern embedded devices use a huge number of different connectors, such as USB Type-B, miniUSB, microUSB and so on. They all differ in form factor, maximum throughput and various other characteristics. The most correct solution in this situation would be to minimize the number of connectors used and dwell on one, the "one" for most developments. The most promising is the use of Type-C connector. It combines incredible bandwidth with high power output. Manufacturers such as Apple, Huawei, Sony are already introducing Type-C connectors in their designs, gradually abandoning the use of "old" connectors. And what is worse for embedded developers?
