XML validation using XSD, JAXB, and Spring Framework

Overview

Hello! In this article, I want to describe an XML validation program using the Spring Framework. The most obvious area of application for such validation is the programming of web services.

Validation is performed through the conversion of XML-Java (unmarshalling) according to the corresponding XSD-scheme. An XML file is considered validated if the conversion from XML to Java is successful.

The project is compiled into a jar file and launched on the command line. For beauty, Apache ANSI Printer is screwed in, in which you can set the font, color and selection of text in cmd.

Source code is available on GitHub via the XmlProcessor link .

So let's get started.

1. Source files and schemes

As input, we define 2 XML files Address.xml and Client.xml.

Address.xml:

    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
       <ns:Request xmlns:ns="http://www.tempuri.org/types">
         <Version>V001.000.00</Version>
         <Address>
             <Apartment>50</Apartment>
             <House>7</House>
             <Street>Sadovaya</Street>
             <City>SPB</City>
             <Country>Russia</Country>
             <Index>123456</Index>
         </Address>
       </ns:Request>

Client.xml:

      <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
      <ns:Request xmlns:ns="http://www.tempuri.org/types">
         <Version>V001.000.00</Version>
         <Client>
             <Id>12</Id>
             <Name>A</Name>
         </Client>
         <Client>
             <Id>34</Id>
             <Name>B</Name>
         </Client>
     </ns:Request>

Next, we define the Xml schemes XmlValidator.xsd, ComplexTypes.xsd and SimpleTypes.xsd with a
description of the CombinedType container and objects of type Address and Client:

XmlValidator.xsd:

     <?xml version="1.0" encoding="ISO-8859-1"?>
     <xsd:schema xmlns:ns="http://www.tempuri.org/types"
          xmlns:xsd="http://www.w3.org/2001/XMLSchema"

    <ns:Combined xmlns:ns="http://www.tempuri.org/types">
	<Version>V001.000.00</Version>
	<Address>
		<AApartment>50</Apartment>
		<House>7</House>
		<Street>Sadovaya</Street>
		<City>Saint Petersburg</City>
		<Country>Russia</Country>
		<Index>123456</Index>
	</Address>
   </ns:Combined>
