Making a quadrocopter using a 3D printer

Hello!

My main job is at the bank. The second work (although I find it equally important) is Open Source.

Hobbies - assembling homemade quadrocopters and flying on them.

Now I will tell you how to make a quadrocopter using a 3D printer.

  1. Take a 3D printer
  2. Disassemble it
  3. We assemble a quadrocopter from its parts

Here is what I got:

  • Name: Mk1 Titanium Reaper
  • Purpose: nature video
  • Autopilot: Raspberry Pi 3 + Navio 2 (Emild - our way)
  • Frame: titanium, aluminum
  • Battery: 6s 10Ah
  • FPV: Yes
  • OSD: Yes
  • WiFi: Yes
  • 4G: Yes

The price-result and price-flight-time ratios are pretty bad, much inferior to the new little blue-eyes.

But for me it's something like the Red Bull Flug Tag. Emotions when such a makeshift drone returns after a multi-kilometer automatic flight - one of the strongest in life.

Plans to write autopilot firmware in Java.

And in the near future - flights on this drone in Bangladesh (Chittagong, Banderban). Nobody confiscates a disassembled 3D printer at the airport;)
