No, this article is not about the author’s fantasies, patriotic songs or populist reflections on the topic. This is a story about how it really is. How in one particular university they created the conditions thanks to which those β€œleaked brains” returned, who left in all known times to do science anywhere, where they paid for it and where there was modern equipment. But for some reason now they have come back, built new laboratories for themselves, educate students and continue to do what they love.


You might immediately think: "So this is probably some kind of university special!" Perhaps, but I'm not a connoisseur of university ratings, so I’ll only tell you about what I saw myself.


So, today we will talk about scientific laboratories at the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology. Is it possible to do something similar in any other? This is a question for local managers. Maybe it’s already done, I was just here and I can’t speak for everyone else.


Initially, I was brought up by a difficult one at the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology with the goal of doing something like a sightseeing tour, but it quickly became clear that there was a topic that was much more interesting: scientific activity right inside the university walls. We’ll talk about her.



Today we will visit the laboratory of artificial quantum systems, the laboratory of topological quantum phenomena in superconducting systems, and the laboratory of terahertz spectroscopy. And along the way we will talk with their inhabitants about how these laboratories appeared, what they do and what is hidden behind these beautiful names - just loud terms or advanced science.
