For centuries man has dreamed of the sky. The Wilbur brothers and Orville Wright, Alberto Santos-Dumont and the Voisin brothers gave it to people. And a man with each decade rose higher and higher, increased speeds, maneuverability, maximum overloads, overcame the sound barrier, faced over and over again the most difficult engineering challenges.
Aviation changed the world - and its modern appearance was largely shaped by fast flights, when reaching a different continent or a remote country ceased to be a difficult and dangerous journey of several weeks, or even months.
But with increasing speeds and distances, requirements for aircraft control systems increased - microcontrollers, firmware, autopilots.
