Smart Engines entered the top three in the FWCI ranking among the basic organizations of FizTech

Today we publish a short note, which, frankly, struck us right in the heart, touched us to the very depths of our souls! According to the results of 2019, Smart Engines takes 3rd place among the basic organizations of PhysTech in terms of the number of publications and their average normalized citation - the FWCI index - with an indicator of 3.3. Realize the power?

From the very first days in our blog on Habré we constantly tell how important it is to seriously engage in science, if you really want to be a significant figure in the technological field. We regularly, without any twinge of conscience, write articles about our corporate trips to major international conferences, publish for you lists of leading magazines that talk about cutting-edge recognition technologies, and quickly share with you the achievements in the subject area (usually their own, but sometimes strangers). And today, meet the quantitative assessment of our (as Smart Engines) scientific significance, which was published by the MIPT Rector Nikolai Kudryavtsev on the Day of Russian Science!

So, FWCI (Field-Weighted Citation Impact) is a discipline-weighted citation index in the SciVal system. The FWCI index is calculated as the ratio of the number of citations of publications of an object to the average number of citations received by all other similar publications in the world.

A value of 3.3 means that the citation level of articles by specialists from Smart Engines is on average more than 3 times higher than similar (by age and type) articles of other authors in our subject area. And this, for a moment, is a real sign of high quality and recognition in the research community.

What is important - publications are prepared not only by old-timers of Smart Engines, but also by students of the Department of Cognitive Technologies at the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology, who come to us for an internship and subsequently become part of our team. Students coming to an internship at SmartEngines combine study with participation in our company's research projects. Developing as scientists, they have the opportunity to publish in peer-reviewed scientific publications, to participate in authoritative scientific conferences.
