Robots and people. What science says about the willingness of people to receive services from robots

According to the latest VTsIOM data, 88% of Russians have a positive or neutral attitude to artificial intelligence. 54% of the inhabitants of our country are ready for the advent of AI technology at home and in the entertainment industry. And two-thirds are ready to receive public services with the help of cars.


Scientists are now actively studying the interaction of people with artificial intelligence and robots.


In December 2019, Russia conducted the first field study related to the study of people's attitudes to robots when receiving services. The results were unexpected.



What was investigated?


The main task of service robots is communication and interaction with people. The integration of robots in society is becoming an important task not only for science, but also for business. How to encourage people to communicate with them? This is not just a scientific, technical or economic problem, but primarily a social and psychological one. All these issues are addressed in the interdisciplinary field of Human-Robot Interaction (HRI).


In recent years, international conferences are increasingly held, scientific articles on this topic are published. And the leading robotics companies open HRI departments.
