New Russian standards for the Internet of things, smart manufacturing and smart city

The Cyber-Physical Systems Technical Committee , together with the All-Russian Institute of Certification with the support of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, at the end of January 2020 introduced preliminary Russian national standards (PNST) in the field of smart manufacturing, the Internet of things and smart city assessment.

The public discussion of draft standards will last until March 31, 2020. After that, they will be submitted for approval to Rosstandart .

The development of documents was initiated to form a full-fledged ecosystem of regulatory and technical regulation of the digital industry. The proposed standards will have a significant impact on the accelerated digitalization of the industrial sector, as well as the development of the Technet market of the National Technology Initiative.

Also, draft standards are designed to simplify the design and development of various systems of the Internet of things and the Industrial Internet of things in Russia. The result of the approval of these documents will be the development in the country of solutions and applications for digital systems using IoT and IIoT, which will not depend on a specific vendor.

The draft preliminary national standards are presented for public discussion:

  1. PNST “Smart manufacturing. Digital doubles. Part 1. General Provisions. " Defines the general requirements for digital twins, as well as guidelines for creating digital twins.
  2. PNST “Smart manufacturing. Digital doubles. Part 2. Typical architecture. " Defines the typical architecture of digital twins.
  3. PNST “Smart manufacturing. Digital doubles. Part 3. Digital representation of physical elements. " Defines the production elements of the structure of digital production doubles that should be represented in digital models.
  4. PNST “Smart manufacturing. Digital doubles. Part 4. Exchange of information. " Defines requirements for data synchronization and data exchange within the framework of a digital twin structure. Issues related to the implementation of both protocols and the protection of information are outside the scope of this standard.
