Die meisten Spiele haben keine offizielle Mod-Unterstützung, aber es gibt ständig Neuigkeiten darüber, wie Modder den Spielen etwas Neues hinzufügen. Normalerweise sprechen wir über das Ersetzen von Modellen, Texturen oder Musik , aber es gibt auch vollwertige neue Spielmechaniken, d. H. Modder sind in den Spielcode eingebettet und ändern die interne Logik.
Ich spiele Beat Sabre ziemlich oft mit Mods und irgendwann wurde es notwendig, meine eigenen zu schreiben. In diesem Teil werden wir untersuchen, mit welchen Methoden das Spiel Mods von Drittanbietern startet: Ändern der Bibliotheken des Spiels und der Engine selbst, Spoofing von Adressen in der DLL-Importtabelle und Beeinträchtigung des Ladens von Mono Runtime.
