تتمتع هذه التنسيقات بمزايا عديدة: فهي تقوم بتخزين البيانات بشكل مضغوط تمامًا وتجنب الازدواجية غير الضرورية في المعلومات.


عيب هذه التنسيقات هو تعقيد معالجتها وتحليلها. لا يمكن استخدام البيانات غير المنظمة في الحسابات ولا يمكن بناء التصور على أساسها.
